Job summary

Ertem Rivero & Partners in Dubai is seeking a Marine Surveyor to support expanding surveying activities across the UAE and the wider Middle East region. You will handle hull and machinery damage surveys, casualty investigations and P&I related work for Hull & Machinery underwriters, P&I clubs, shipowners and other marine interests.

The ideal candidate has a maritime background with at least four years of seagoing experience, including at least one year as Second Engineer or Chief Officer, and

Qualifications

• Maritime background is required.
• Seagoing experience of at least 4 years is required, including 1 year in the rank of Second Engineer or Chief Officer.
• Strong written and spoken English is essential.
• Willingness to travel internationally on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Hull & Machinery damage surveys and casualty investigations.
• P&I related surveys and investigations.
• Condition / Pre-Purchase surveys.
• Towage Fitness surveys.
• Loss of Hire surveys.
• Preparation of detailed technical survey reports.
• Liaising with Underwriters, P&I Clubs, Shipowners and managers.
• Attendance on board vessels or at repair yards in the UAE and overseas as required.

Ertem Rivero & Partners is looking for a Marine Surveyor to join our Dubai Office and support our expanding marine surveying activities across the UAE and the wider Middle East region.

The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of marine surveys and casualty investigations on behalf of Hull & Machinery Underwriters, P&I Clubs, Shipowners and other marine interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Hull & Machinery damage surveys and casualty investigations

• P&I related surveys and investigations

• Condition / Pre-Purchase surveys

• Towage Fitness surveys

• Loss of Hire surveys

• JH 2013/007 Condition Surveys

• Cargo damage surveys

• Preparation of detailed technical survey reports

• Liaising with Underwriters, P&I Clubs, Shipowners, Managers, repair yards and other parties concerned

• Attendance on board vessels / at repair yards throughout the UAE and, when required, overseas

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture / Marine Transportation or other relevant maritime background

2. Minimum four (4) years of seagoing experience, including at least one (1) year served in the rank of Second Engineer or Chief Officer

3. Previous marine surveying experience would be an advantage

4. Good knowledge of ship structures, machinery and marine operations

5. Strong written and spoken English

6. Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally at short notice

7. Valid UAE driving licence would be an advantage

8. UAE / Middle East marine surveying experience would be an advantage
