Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering.
• 5–8 years proven experience in Marine Propulsion Systems and ship design.
• Excellent knowledge of marine automation systems and propulsion controls.
• Strong communication abilities and capacity to facilitate teamwork across departments.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT).
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modelling software.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and analyze customer needs and their technical problems, recommending solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive site visits with attention to detail.
• Research and analyze best-fit components for integration into systems based on application and conditions.
• Implement simulation and sensitivity analysis to select the best-fit performance.
• Support the sales team with technical marketing intelligence.
• Design and configure marine automation systems and propulsion controls to meet tender requirements.
• Verify sub-suppliers proposals for compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare technical submittals of marine system solutions and obtain approvals.
• Present technical features of marine system solutions to customers and end users.
• Prepare final BOM to suppliers prior to orders.
• Develop sustainable energy solutions including standard designs, detailed BOQ, cost roadmap and optimization plan.
• Develop templates for quick commercial evaluation including CAPEX, OPEX estimations.
• Conduct research to find best-fit components for integration into systems per specifications.

Ensure the technical specifications and the submittal of our offering are as per the project/tender and authorities’ specifications and get the approval on it. Develop cost-optimized sustainable energy solutions matching customers/client’s needs.

Core Responsibilities

• Solid understanding of marine propulsion systems, application and engineering to provide solutions to customer needs.
• Must acquire and analyze customer needs and their technical problems, making recommendations to the team to satisfy needs and develop solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive site visits and attentive to details.
• Conduct research and analysis to find the best-fit components suitable for integration into systems based on the application, operation profile, operational conditions and mission of the final products stipulated by the customer / consultant / end users specifications.
• Implementation of simulation and sensitivity analysis for each proposed selection in order to reach to the best fit with the required performance.
• Support the sales team with the technical marketing intelligent.
• Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
• Design / Configure marine automation systems and propulsion control components (diesel engine, gearbox, various types of propulsion system and ship design, etc.) meeting the project/tender requirements.
• Configure the system integration and specify the specifications to suppliers.
• Verify sub-suppliers technical proposals and its compliance with the project/tender requirements.
• Prepare technical submittals of marine system solutions and follow up technical approvals.
• Present technical features of marine system solutions to customer / consultants / end users.
• Prepare the final BOM to the suppliers prior to place the orders.
• Upon receipt the order; hand over the project technical aspects and requirements to the project-process engineer with formal MOM to be attached in the project master file.
• Develop sustainable energy solutions including development of standard designs, detailed BOQ, level costing, cost roadmap and cost-optimization plan.
• Solid understanding of sustainable energy solutions design to provide solutions to customer needs.
• Develop templates for quick commercial evaluation of project opportunities including CAPEX, OPEX estimations, cash flow analysis for project financing.
• Conduct research and analysis to find the best-fit components suitable for integration into systems based on the application, operation profile, operational conditions and mission of the final products stipulated by the customer / consultant / end users specifications.

Education and Skills

• Bachelor of Mechanical/Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering
• Minimum 5-8 years proven experience in Marine Propulsion Systems (diesel engine, gearbox, various types of propulsion system) and ship design.
• Excellent knowledge of the marine automation systems and propulsion controls.
• Possess strong communication abilities.
• Excellent mathematical skills and the capacity to facilitate teamwork across departments.
• Proven network within the industry especially consultants and end users.
• Perfect command of written & spoken English.
• Excellent in MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modelling software.
