Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Sr Principal Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and implement manufacturing industrialization processes for UAV systems. You will collaborate with Design Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Programs and Facilities to optimize processes.

You will focus on manufacturability, process definitions, cost estimation, lead IPT teams, and supplier collaboration to ensure timely delivery of high-quality UAVs.

Qualifications

• Inputs and outputs for each step in the process need to be clearly identified, along with quality expectations and the value added to the finished product.
• Concurent Engineering / DFM: Participate in new product development core teams and provide technical influence to ensure that the products are designed for manufacturability.
• Estimation: Play key role in the estimation process of non recurring costs, such as Engineering HRs, Tool Design and manufacturing, Process design and direct HRs for all manufacturing steps.
• Lead: Lead and/or participate in project teams (IPT teams) coordinating the efforts of engineers, technicians and other professionals of various disciplines/departments to design, develop, and continuously improve product manufacturing processes.
• Plan and Supplier Collaboration: Play key role in qualifying new suplliers and support suppliers with Manufacturing processes and methods required to manufacture UAV parts.

Their expertise ensures the efficient production of high-quality UAVs while maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance. They collaborate closely with cross-functional teams mainly Design Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Programs, Facilities etc to optimize manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement.

Think Process Not Features

Principal Manufacturing Engineers establish a streamlined process that covers all deliverables and milestones- from the initial estimation to the finished product. Inputs and outputs for each step in the process need to be clearly identified, along with quality expectations and the value added to the finished product. Once the entire process has been laid out, specific technologies and methods are considered based on their impact on the process outcome, not the latest bells and whistles.

Concurent Engineering / DFM: Participate in new product development core teams and provide technical influence to ensure that the products are designed for manufacturability.

Estimation: Play key role in the estimation process of non recurring costs, such as Engineering HRs, Tool Design and manufacturing, Process design and direct HRs for all manufacturing steps. Also, play key role in estimating capacity requirements for facilities, machines, tools and materials.

Lead: Lead and/or participate in project teams (IPT teams) coordinating the efforts of engineers, technicians and other professionals of various disciplines/departments to design, develop, and continuously improve product manufacturing processes.

Plan and Supplier Collaboration: Play key role in qualifying new suplliers and support suppliers with Manufacturing processes and methods required to manufacture UAV parts. They work closely with suppliers to ensure the availability of materials, components, and equipment required for manufacturing UAVs.
