Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering function within a complex aerospace manufacturing environment in Abu Dhabi.

The role covers process engineering, industrialisation, tooling, CNC programming, process optimisation and technical standards, with responsibility for NPI, production readiness and continuous improvement.

• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across process engineering, CNC programming, tooling and technical specialists.
• Own manufacturing process definitions, technical standards and process-control strategies.
• Drive NPI, industrialisation, production readiness and process qualification.
• Oversee tooling, fixtures and CNC programming.
• Lead process optimisation using Lean, Six Sigma, SPC and data-driven improvement.
• Support production with technical problem solving and root-cause investigations.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer requirements.
• Coordinate closely with production, quality and other technical functions.

The role will have responsibility across process engineering, industrialisation, tooling, CNC programming, process optimisation and technical standards, supporting the delivery of high-quality, repeatable manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across process engineering, CNC programming, tooling and technical specialists
• Own manufacturing process definitions, technical standards and process-control strategies
• Drive NPI, industrialisation, production readiness and process qualification
• Oversee tooling, fixtures and CNC programming
• Lead process optimisation using Lean, Six Sigma, SPC and data-driven improvement
• Support production with technical problem solving and root-cause investigations
• Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace quality standards and customer requirements
• Coordinate closely with production, quality and other technical functions

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience in manufacturing engineering
• 5-7+ years in an engineering leadership or managerial role
• Strong aerospace manufacturing background
• Proven experience across process development, industrialisation, tooling and CNC programming
• Strong understanding of SPC, process capability and continuous improvement
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems
• Familiarity with recognised aerospace quality standards
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering

Preferred

• Experience with advanced metallic components
• Exposure to complex machining and/or forming processes
• Experience with FAI, qualification and production-readiness activities
• Experience building and developing engineering teams
