The Managing Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying activities within the projects. This includes cost estimation, budget management, contract administration, and ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Cost Estimation and Budget Management:
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Implement cost control measures to prevent budget overruns.
Contract Administration:
- Draft, review, and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Handle variations, claims, and negotiations related to contracts.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular financial reports, including cost forecasts and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Provide insights and recommendations for cost optimization.
Primary Deliverables:
- Precise and On Time submission of any type of documents/reports/data.
- Complete tasks efficiently and stay within budget as part of your job responsibilities
Secondary Deliverables:
- Provide input to other departments or parties as needed on time.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct detailed quantity surveys and cost analyses for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare tender documentation and participate in the tendering process.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and value for money.
- Monitor and assess project progress against budgets and financial plans.
- Provide guidance to junior quantity surveyors and project teams on cost-related matters.
- Collaborate with legal teams on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain supportive documentation to substantiate the actual performance for all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlined in the Balanced Scorecard (BSC).

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification or membership with RICS or relevant institution is preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on building construction projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing the quantity surveying function in the UAE.
- Experience in managing a team of quantity surveyors.
- Familiarity with a variety of construction contract types and project delivery methods.
