Job summary

Wasael Property Management seeks an experienced Manager – Special Airport Systems to lead performance, maintenance and lifecycle management of critical airport systems in a 24/7 environment. The role focuses on reliability, safety and service excellence across all assets, with reporting via IBM Maximo and Power BI.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in engineering, 10+ years in the field with 5+ in management, and strong leadership with contractor oversight. UAE driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics or related engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Experience with specialist airport systems and asset/contractor management.
• Aviation/airport experience in 24/7 environments preferred.
• Proficiency with IBM Maximo and Power BI.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Valid UAE driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and performance of PBB, VDGS, GPU, and PCA systems.
• Manage contractors, service delivery, KPIs, SLAs and regulatory compliance.
• Drive asset reliability, lifecycle planning and maintenance optimisation.
• Lead technical investigations, audits, risk management and business continuity.
• Oversee asset performance reporting using IBM Maximo and Power BI.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Manager – Special Airport Systems to lead the operational performance, maintenance and lifecycle management of critical airport systems, ensuring reliability, safety and service excellence across a 24/7 airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and performance of specialist airport systems, including Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Visual Docking Guidance Systems (VDGS), Ground Power Units (GPU) and Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) systems.

• Manage specialist contractors, service delivery, KPIs, SLAs and regulatory compliance.

• Drive asset reliability, lifecycle planning, maintenance optimisation and continuous improvement.

• Lead technical investigations, maintenance audits, risk management and business continuity planning.

• Oversee asset performance reporting and analytics using IBM Maximo and Power BI.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics or a related Engineering discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.

• Strong experience in specialist airport systems, asset management and contractor performance management.

• Experience in aviation, airports or critical 24/7 operational environments is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in IBM Maximo/CMMS and Power BI.

• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

• Valid UAE driving licence.
