Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Manager - Supply Chain Management (SCM) to oversee end-to-end procurement, logistics, vendor relations, and inventory for solar EPC projects.

The role requires deep expertise in supply chain logistics, procurement strategies, and risk management to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and services while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong preference for experience in the solar, renewable energy, or EPC industries.
• Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g. CSCP, CPSM).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage procurement processes for solar equipment, materials and services.
• Negotiate and establish relationships with suppliers ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Oversee logistics, transportation and warehousing to ensure timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors ensuring on-time delivery and quality.
• Manage inventory levels and optimize stock to minimize costs.
• Evaluate and implement strategies to reduce supply chain costs without compromising delivery.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions.
• Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals and set performance goals.
• Ensure compliance and maintain records of procurement activities and supplier communications.

Job Purpose

Manager - Supply Chain Management SCM will oversee and optimize the end-to-end supply chain processes within our Solar EPC projects The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain logistics procurement strategies vendor management and inventory control specific to the solar energy industry You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of materials components and services necessary to meet project timelines and quality standards

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management

Lead and manage procurement processes for solar equipment materials and services required for projects Negotiate and establish relationships with suppliers ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards Monitor the global solar market to identify new suppliers emerging trends and cost-saving opportunities

Logistics and Delivery Coordination

Oversee the logistics transportation and warehousing of solar materials and equipment Ensure timely delivery of all required components to project sites while managing transportation costs and risks Coordinate with project managers to align supply chain operations with project timelines

Vendor and Supplier Management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors ensuring consistent quality and on-time delivery Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and resolve any issues related to delays quality or costs

Inventory and Stock Control

Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for ongoing and upcoming projects Implement inventory optimization techniques to minimize excess stock and associated costs

Cost Optimization

Continuously evaluate and recommend strategies to reduce supply chain costs without compromising quality or delivery timelines Monitor and manage the budget for procurement and supply chain activities

Risk Management

Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions such as material shortages transportation delays or price volatility Develop contingency plans to ensure the uninterrupted supply of critical project materials

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals providing guidance and training to ensure high performance Set clear performance goals and metrics for team members conducting regular evaluations

Compliance amp Documentation

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to procurement logistics and safety Maintain accurate records of procurement activities contracts and supplier communications
