To establish, lead, and continuously improve TAQA Distribution's data and AI governance framework, ensuring that data assets are well-governed, high-quality, securely managed, and used responsibly in accordance with regulatory obligations and organizational data policies. The Manager, Data and AI Governance oversees the end-to-end data governance lifecycle — including data policy management, metadata management, data quality governance, AI ethics oversight, and compliance monitoring — working closely with the VP, Data Management to position TAQA as a data-driven organisation where data and AI are treated as strategic assets.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and continuously mature TAQA Distribution's data and AI governance framework, establishing data governance policies, standards, processes, and controls that ensure TAQA's data assets are accurate, secure, compliant, and fit for purpose.
- Manage the data governance programme across TAQA, coordinating with the Lead, Data and AI Governance and Business Data Stewards within business units to ensure governance policies are understood, adopted, and consistently applied.
- Govern TAQA's data catalogue, metadata management, and data lineage capabilities, ensuring data assets are discovered, documented, and traceable across the data platform and enterprise systems.
- Implement and oversee data quality management frameworks, defining data quality rules, monitoring data quality metrics, and coordinating remediation of data quality issues across TAQA's key data domains.
- Establish and govern TAQA's AI governance and responsible AI framework, ensuring that AI models and data-driven decisions are developed and deployed in an ethical, explainable, fair, and regulatory-compliant manner.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and applicable data management standards, managing data classification, data retention, data privacy impact assessments, and consent management practices across TAQA's data landscape.
- Monitor regulatory developments in data governance, AI regulation, and data privacy, assessing their impact on TAQA's data and AI governance practices and coordinating framework updates accordingly.
- Lead and develop the data governance team including the Lead, Data and AI Governance, fostering deep data governance expertise and a culture of data stewardship across TAQA's business and IT functions.
