Job summary

Autostrad Rent A Car is seeking a senior leader to own and grow the car-sharing vertical, leveraging the company’s Operations, Fleet, Customer Service, IT, Finance and Marketing teams in Abu Dhabi. You will drive utilization, pricing, customer experience, partnerships, service providers, revenue and profitability.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in car sharing, car rental, mobility, or fleet management.
• UAE/GCC experience preferred.
• Exposure to pricing, revenue management, partnerships or business development would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial performance of vehicles allocated to car sharing and monitor utilization and profitability.
• Develop pricing strategies and promotions to optimize revenue.
• Partner with Operations, IT, and Finance to ensure seamless customer experience and platform performance.
• Identify and build strategic alliances with residential communities, corporates, hotels, universities, and malls.

Job description

To manage and grow the company’s car-sharing business using a selected fleet of vehicles earmarked for car sharing, while leveraging Autostrad’s existing Operations, Fleet, Customer Service, IT, Finance and Marketing teams.

The role will act as the business owner for the car-sharing vertical, with responsibility for utilization, pricing, customer experience, partnerships, service providers, revenue and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Fleet Performance

• Take ownership of the commercial performance of vehicles allocated to car sharing.
• Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, revenue, downtime and profitability.
• Work closely with the existing Operations and Fleet teams for vehicle readiness, maintenance, cleaning, relocation and recovery.
• Recommend increases, reductions or relocation of vehicles based on demand and performance.
• Ensure maximum availability and minimum downtime of the earmarked fleet.
• Develop and regularly review minute, hourly and daily pricing.
• Recommend promotional, weekend, subscription and corporate packages.
• Benchmark pricing against car-sharing, rental, taxi and ride-hailing competitors.
• Analyze the impact of pricing on utilization, customer demand and profitability.
• Develop pricing initiatives to improve utilization during low-demand periods.
• Monitor revenue per vehicle, average revenue per booking and contribution per vehicle.

3. Customer Experience

• Own and continuously improve the complete customer journey:
• Identify customer pain points and coordinate solutions with relevant teams.
• Monitor complaints, cancellations and recurring service issues.
• Work with Customer Service to ensure quick resolution of customer problems.
• Drive repeat usage, customer retention and satisfaction.
• Act as the business coordinator for the car-sharing application and platform.
• Work with IT and technology partners on booking, KYC, vehicle access, GPS, billing, payments and telematics.
• Identify system issues affecting customers or vehicle utilization and ensure timely resolution.
• Recommend technology enhancements to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

5. Alliances & Partnerships

• Identify and develop strategic partnerships that can generate customers, locations or business opportunities.
• Build relationships with:
  • Residential communities and property developers
  • Corporates and business parks
  • Hotels and tourism partners
  • Universities
  • Shopping malls
  • Parking operators
  • EV charging providers
  • Mobility platforms
• Negotiate commercial arrangements and monitor the performance of each partnership.
• Develop a pipeline of new alliance opportunities to support business growth.

6. Service Partner Management

• Manage key external service providers supporting the car-sharing business.
• Coordinate with providers for technology, telematics, KYC, payments, roadside assistance, cleaning, recovery, parking and EV charging.
• Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements.
• Ensure service partners meet agreed performance, response time and cost standards.
• Review vendor performance and costs periodically.

7. Data, Reporting & Business Growth

• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports.
• Analyze customer behavior, fleet utilization, pricing and financial performance.
• Identify underperforming vehicles, locations and customer segments.
• Recommend actions to improve revenue and profitability.
• Identify opportunities for expansion into new locations, customer segments and vehicle categories.
• Prepare business cases for fleet or network expansion.

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in car sharing, car rental, mobility, automotive, fleet management, transportation, ride-hailing or a technology-enabled consumer business.
• UAE/GCC experience preferred.
• Exposure to pricing, revenue management, partnerships or business development would be an advantage.
