Job summary

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a Manager of BI Development to design, deliver and govern end-to-end BI solutions for MAF Retail. You will lead complex BI projects, collaborate with business functions, and supervise BI assets including dashboards, datasets, and governance processes.

The role requires strong SQL/R/Python skills, expertise in Tableau and Power BI, and experience with data modelling techniques. It offers a global, enterprise environment with cloud and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years in a senior BI developer role in an international environment.
• 2+ years in the retail/FMCG domain preferred.
• Proficient in R, Python and SQL.
• Strong experience with Tableau and Power BI for dashboards.
• Knowledge of algorithms/modelling techniques (logistic/linear regression, clustering, trees, SVM, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, development, maintenance of Power BI workspaces, datasets, dashboards, reports and KPIs.

• Lead BI RLS, PLS, and OLS design with data engineering collaboration.
• Co-design XMLA framework with Cloud Architecture for governance and data updates.
• Apply advanced SQL, DAX and M to extract insights and perform quality checks.
• Identify and implement internal process improvements to automate and scale data delivery.

Role Summary

The Manager – BI Development is responsible for designing, executing, and delivering end-to-end solutions based on MAF Retail business intelligence and automation delivery and Insights roadmap, in close collaboration with the business functions, and data engineers.

ROLE PROFILE

• Lead Business Intelligence projects design, execution and delivery ensuring compliance and consistency with MAFR BI delivery standards and data governance.
• Lead the collaboration with MAFR Functions to identify key business challenges and how to tackle them through business intelligence and data analytics and actionable projects.
• Supervise the design, development, maintenance & real-time update, CI/CD, and governance compliance of Power BI workspaces, applications, datasets, flows, dashboards, reports, performance metrics, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Lead the development and maintenance of MAFR Business Intelligence glossary book for all BI activities (KPIs, measures, variables, tables, views, dimensions, naming conventions …etc).
• Lead MAFR BI RLS, PLS, and OLS design, architecture, and ensure complete automated execution flow through close cooperation with Data-Engineering and Data Architecture.
• Co-Design with the Cloud Architecture team a unified framework for XMLA (read/write) including policy & procedures to ensure governance compliance, quality, and seamless process for the frequent data read/update on all platforms.
• Utilize advanced SQL, DAX, and M techniques to extract insights from large datasets and run regular quality checks to ensure maintaining the minimum data quality threshold.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a computer science/engineering/math or related technical discipline
• 7+ years in as a senior BI developer role in an international environment; creating and building complex BI solutions at enterprise level. analyses and evaluation tools for assessing/tracking performance and learning associated user behaviours with the
• 2+ years in the retail/FMCG business is preferred
• Proficient in various statistical programming languages is a must, such as R/Python/SQL, etc.
• Strong experience in several visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc. supporting data dashboarding and reporting
• Good knowledge of algorithm/modelling techniques is a must, such as Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, Clustering, Decision Trees, Random Forest, SVM, KNN etc.
