Job summary

Weekday AI (YC W21) is seeking a commercially minded Sales Accountant in Dubai to bridge accounting services with business development. The role combines accounting knowledge with client-facing sales and the ability to translate client needs into proposals and long-term relationships.

You will engage with clients on UAE accounting, VAT, and Corporate Tax, prepare quotations, and drive upselling while coordinating with onboarding and service delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, taxation, financial services, consultancy, or a related field.
• Strong practical understanding of UAE accounting, VAT, and Corporate Tax.
• Experience working with UAE-based clients is an advantage.
• Professional accounting qualifications (CA, ACCA, CPA) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Engage with new and existing clients to understand their accounting, taxation, and compliance requirements.
• Recommend and sell appropriate accounting, VAT, Corporate Tax, and related compliance services.
• Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services based on client requirements.

We are looking for a commercially minded and client-focused Sales Accountant who combines strong accounting knowledge with excellent communication and business development skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable discussing accounting and taxation requirements with clients, recommending relevant services, preparing proposals, and converting opportunities into long-term client relationships.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who wants to move beyond traditional back-office responsibilities and play a direct role in client acquisition, service sales, upselling, and relationship management.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with new and existing clients to understand their accounting, taxation, and compliance requirements


• Recommend and sell appropriate accounting, VAT, Corporate Tax, and related compliance services


• Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services based on client requirements


• Explain UAE accounting, VAT, and Corporate Tax requirements clearly and confidently to clients


• Prepare service quotations, proposals, and commercial documentation


• Follow up with leads and prospects to move opportunities through the sales pipeline


• Convert company-formation and other business-service clients into ongoing accounting and compliance engagements


• Manage clients acquired through the sales process and ensure smooth delivery of the services sold


• Coordinate closely with accounting and compliance teams during client onboarding and service execution


• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with business owners and decision-makers


• Identify additional accounting, tax, and compliance requirements within existing client accounts


• Maintain accurate records of leads, client interactions, conversions, sales activity, and revenue performance


• Meet agreed sales and business development targets while maintaining high standards of client service


• Stay informed about developments in UAE accounting, VAT, Corporate Tax, and business compliance requirements

What's Makes You a Great Fit

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, taxation, financial services, consultancy, or a related field


• Strong practical understanding of UAE accounting, VAT, and Corporate Tax


• Proven ability to communicate financial and tax concepts clearly to clients and non-financial stakeholders


• Excellent spoken and written English with strong professional communication skills


• Confident, persuasive, and comfortable conducting client conversations and sales discussions


• Strong sales, negotiation, upselling, and relationship-management skills


• Experience managing the complete client journey from enquiry and consultation through closure and onboarding


• Previous experience working in the UAE or with UAE-based clients will be an advantage


• Experience in a client-facing accounting, consultancy, corporate services, or professional services environment is preferred


• CA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent accounting qualification will be an advantage


• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify client needs and convert them into business opportunities


• Highly organized with strong follow-up and pipeline-management skills
