Job summary

PES Engineering Limited in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer to prepare and review technical documentation related to safety and fire protection. You will participate in interdisciplinary reviews and coordinate project activities with drafting teams to ensure compliance with design basis.

The role covers development of safety concepts, hazard classifications, hazard studies (HAZID/HAZOP), and production of PFP specifications, Firewater networks, and ESD layouts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical documentation related to safety and loss prevention engineering
• Participate in interdisciplinary document reviews and project coordination activities
• Develop Loss Prevention Philosophy, Safety Concepts, and Fire Protection Design Basis documents
• Prepare Hazardous Area Classification drawings and schedules
• Develop Passive Fire Protection (PFP) specifications, schedules, and layouts
• Prepare Fire & Gas Design Philosophy documents and Fire & Gas Detection layouts
• Develop safety equipment location plans, escape route layouts, and safety signage drawings
• Carry out design and characterization of firefighting systems and related documentation
• Perform hydraulic calculations for firewater networks and spray systems
• Prepare specifications, material requisitions (MR), technical bid evaluations (TBE), and review vendor documentation
• Coordinate HAZID, HAZOP, and other safety workshops, reviewing studies performed by third-party consultants
• Prepare and review Firewater Network P&IDs
• Coordinate with drafting teams for the development of engineering drawings
