Job description

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

Key job responsibilities
  • Understand all aspects of operations while adhering to strict safety standards and maintaining very high quality. This is a hands‑on role that requires the willingness and ability to operate powered equipment (e.g., forklift or cherry picker).
  • Partner with the Logistics Manager to create plans that optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle — tracking inventory location, movement, age, and turns.
  • Work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Data Center Engineers to fulfill parts requests quickly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts, and interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements.
  • Maintain regular, ongoing communication with vendors to resolve issues and align them on our business requirements — this requires a strong, high‑level communicator.
  • Support an environment that operates 24/7.
A day in the life

This position works in person at a site location. On a typical day, you will assist in the daily scheduling of deliveries and pick‑ups, adhere to all safety and security protocols for the site, and assist in loading and unloading shipments, working with and/or around moving mechanical parts. The role requires standing, sitting, and walking for prolonged periods of time, and manual handling and lifting of objects may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations). You will regularly walk, use your hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with your hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You will also reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
