Job summary

Al Gurg Group is seeking a Legal Consultant – Litigation with 1–2 years of UAE experience to file, manage and report on civil, labour, tenancy and criminal matters. You will supervise external counsel, support debt collection and coordinate with authorities, in line with Group Legal guidelines.

You will communicate effectively in Arabic and English, drafting documents and maintaining audit-ready litigation records for informed leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
• 1–2 years of relevant litigation experience in the UAE.
• Exposure to civil, labour, tenancy and/or criminal matters and court procedures.
• Native-level Arabic and fluent English, written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including with challenging or adversarial counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Handle assigned litigation cases — civil, criminal, tenancy and labour — in line with Group Legal guidelines and the instructions of the Senior Legal Advisor – Litigation.
• File and follow up on civil claims, payment orders and related proceedings before the UAE courts, committees and relevant authorities.
• Prepare case summaries, status updates and progress reports for the Senior Legal Advisor – Litigation and Group Head – Legal.
• Supervise external law firms on assigned matters, monitoring strategy, deadlines, quality of work and costs.
• Support Group businesses and Credit Control in debt collection, negotiating and documenting out-of-court settlements where appropriate.
• Coordinate with police and government authorities on case-related filings, follow-ups and enforcement steps.
• Draft standardized legal documents, notices and correspondence using approved templates and guidelines.
• Support the commercial teams with notarization requirements at the notary public.
• Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date data in the Group’s litigation case management system, ensuring records are audit-ready.
• Communicate and engage effectively with internal and external parties in both Arabic and English, including in challenging or adversarial situations.
• Support initiatives led by the Senior Legal Advisor – Litigation to improve litigation processes, reporting and outcomes.
