Job summary

No Grey Area in Dubai is seeking a Lighting/Electrical Estimation Specialist to support the preparation of lighting and electrical estimates for projects and tenders. You will review drawings, calculate costs, and prepare BOQs and tender submissions to help win bids for multi-region lighting and interiors projects.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience in lighting or electrical estimation, strong Excel skills, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Lighting/Electrical Estimation Specialist to support the preparation of lighting and electrical estimates for projects and tenders. The role will involve reviewing technical drawings and specifications, carrying out quantity take-offs, preparing BOQs, calculating costs, and supporting the team in developing competitive tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and requirements to understand project scope
• Carry out accurate material quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
• Calculate material, equipment, and project-related costs
• Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and tender submissions
• Review supplier quotations and maintain accurate pricing information
• Identify cost-saving alternatives while maintaining the design intent and technical requirements
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to obtain relevant product and pricing information
• Maintain updated knowledge of lighting products, technologies, controls, and market pricing
• Assist with the preparation of commercial and technical documentation for tenders
• Support the estimation team in meeting project deadlines and submission requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in lighting, electrical estimation, or a related estimating role
• Good understanding of lighting systems and controls
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Understanding of MEP systems and drawings
• Experience with material quantity take-offs and BOQ preparationStrong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in estimation or quantity take-off software is an advantage
• Good understanding of lighting products and applications is preferred
• Proactive mindset with strong willingness to learn and develop
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal teams and suppliers
