Job summary

Hydropower Energy in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Lifting Operations Supervisor for a fast-track ADNOC brownfield project in Ruwais. You will oversee crane set-up, signaling, and crew coordination to ensure lifts are executed safely within the approved lift plan.

The role requires a diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or lifting operations, with at least 5 years lifting experience and ADNOC APLO approval.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, lifting operations, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years lifting operations experience, including ADNOC brownfield exposure.
• Valid ADNOC APLO competency and approval is mandatory.
• Valid third-party lifting supervisor certification and knowledge of crane operations required.
• Experience supervising mobile crane lifts on civil projects in oil/gas environments.

Responsibilities

• Review lift plan, permit, risk assessment and conditions with lifting team before starting.
• Conduct pre-lift briefings and confirm roles, signals, hazards and stop work requirements.
• Verify crane setup, outriggers, mats, level, radius, boom configuration and exclusion zones.
• Inspect slings, shackles, hooks, spreader beams and lifting accessories and confirm certification.
• Confirm load identity, weight, center of gravity and lifting points before authorizing lift.
• Maintain communication with crane operator and banksman; ensure correct signaling.
• Monitor wind, visibility, lighting, ground conditions and live operations.
• Coordinate with Job Performer, Permit Coordinator, HSE, equipment owner and other fronts.
• Stop lifting if parameters change or unsafe condition arises.
• Ensure loads land securely and area is left safe after lifts.
• Maintain daily lifting records and report defects or incidents.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Role Purpose

Controls lifting activities at the worksite and ensures eachlift is executed safely, within the approved lift plan and under valid ADNOCpermits and brownfield controls.

Project Context

Site based role for a fast track ADNOC brownfield project inRuwais involving bulk civil works, including right of way preparation,excavation and trenching, access road preparation, berm construction, gradingand compaction, and associated culvert works.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the approved lift plan, permit, task riskassessment and site conditions with the lifting team before starting work.
• Conduct pre lift briefings and confirm thatcrane operators, riggers, banksmen and helpers understand their roles, signals,hazards and stop work requirements.
• Verify crane setup, outriggers, mats, level,radius, boom configuration, counterweight, exclusion zones and access routesagainst the lift plan.
• Inspect slings, shackles, hooks, spreader beams,tag lines and other lifting accessories and confirm valid certification andcolor coding.
• Confirm load identity, weight, center ofgravity, lifting points, rigging arrangement and travel path before authorizingthe lift.
• Maintain effective communication with the craneoperator and banksman and ensure only the designated signaler directs cranemovements.
• Monitor wind, visibility, lighting, groundconditions, nearby excavations, live facilities and simultaneous operationsthroughout the lift.
• Coordinate with the Job Performer, PermitCoordinator, HSE team, equipment owner and affected work fronts.
• Stop the lifting operation if the approvedparameters change, communication is lost, an alarm is raised or any unsafecondition develops.
• Ensure loads are securely landed, liftingaccessories are properly stored and the area is left safe after completion.
• Maintain daily lifting records and reportdefects, near misses, incidents and deviations immediately.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or technical qualification in MechanicalEngineering, lifting operations or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of lifting operationsexperience, including at least 3 years on ADNOC projects in brownfield areas.
• Valid ADNOC APLO competency and approvalapplicable to the operating company and project location is mandatory.
• Valid third-party Lifting Supervisorcertification and sound knowledge of crane operations, rigging practices andlifting accessories are required.
• Experience supervising mobile crane lifts inrestricted civil construction and live oil and gas environments is required.
• Able to read lift plans, crane load charts,certificates, permits and task risk assessments and communicate clearly inEnglish.

Employment Conditions

• Full-time site assignment in Ruwais for theduration of the project.
• Must be able to work within a fast-trackprogramme, extended site hours and shift arrangements when required.
