Job summary

Hydropower Energy seeks an experienced Lifting Engineer for a fast-track ADNOC brownfield project in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. You will plan, engineer and coordinate lifting operations, develop lift plans and verify equipment against load charts and the approved lift plan.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering degree, 8–10 years of lifting experience (5+ on ADNOC brownfield sites), and valid ADNOC APLO competency with recognized lifting qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–10 years lifting operations experience, including 5+ years on ADNOC brownfield projects.
• Valid ADNOC APLO competency and approval for the project location.
• Recognized lifting engineering or appointed person qualification required.
• Experience preparing engineered and critical lift plans, calculations, crane studies and ground bearing assessments.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC lifting requirements and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop the project lifting plan, procedures and lift categorization criteria.
• Prepare, review and approve routine to critical lift plans within delegated authority.
• Calculate load weight, centre of gravity, crane utilization and outriggers reactions.
• Select suitable cranes, lifting accessories and verify capacity against charts.
• Coordinate with live facilities, overhead/underground services and concurrent activities.
• Lead pre-lift meetings with ADNOC, operations, HSE and subcontractors.
• Verify third-party certificates and equipment documentation before mobilization.
• Attend and supervise critical lifts, ensuring compliance with the lift plan.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Role Purpose

Plans, engineers and coordinates lifting operations so thatevery lift is properly assessed, approved and executed in accordance with ADNOCrequirements and the approved lift plan.

Project Context

Site based role for a fast track ADNOC brownfield project inRuwais involving bulk civil works, including right of way preparation,excavation and trenching, access road preparation, berm construction, gradingand compaction, and associated culvert works.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop the project lifting plan, liftingprocedures, lift categorization criteria and lifting equipment controlarrangements.
• Prepare, review and approve routine, non-routine, complex and critical lift plans within the limits of delegatedauthority.
• Calculate load weight, center of gravity, craneutilization, rigging loads, ground bearing pressure, outrigger reactions andsafety clearances.
• Select suitable cranes, lifting accessories,spreader beams, mats and rigging configurations and verify capacity againstmanufacturer load charts.
• Assess brownfield interfaces including livefacilities, overhead and underground services, adjacent operations, restrictedaccess and simultaneous activities.
• Coordinate engineered ground preparation andcrane positioning on ROWs, access roads, excavation edges, culverts, berms andtemporary working platforms.
• Lead pre lift meetings and coordinate withADNOC, operations, HSE, permit, construction, equipment owners and specialistlifting subcontractors.
• Verify valid third-party certificates,inspections, color coding, operator competence, APLO approval and equipmentdocumentation before mobilization and use.
• Attend and supervise critical lifts, confirmcompliance with the approved lift plan and stop work if conditions, equipmentor parameters change.
• Maintain the lifting register, lift plan status,equipment records and technical calculations and support audits and incidentinvestigations.
• Provide technical guidance to LiftingSupervisors, crane operators, riggers and banksmen and ensure lessons learnedare implemented.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or arelated engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of lifting operationsexperience, including at least 5 years on ADNOC projects in brownfield areas.
• Valid ADNOC APLO competency and approvalapplicable to the operating company and project location is mandatory.
• Recognized lifting engineering, appointed personor crane and rigging qualification is required.
• Demonstrated experience preparing engineered andcritical lift plans, calculations, crane studies and ground bearingassessments.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC lifting requirements,BS 7121, LOLER and applicable international lifting standards.

Employment Conditions

• Full-time site assignment in Ruwais for theduration of the project.
• Must be able to work within a fast-trackprogramme, extended site hours and shift arrangements when required.
