Job summary

LT-Larsen & Toubro in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a safety-conscious Lifting Engineer to design, review, and supervise critical lifting operations, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations.

You will develop detailed lifting plans in CAD, conduct JSA/RAs, oversee equipment inspections, supervise lifts on site, select cranes, and lead investigations into any lifting incidents to implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in heavy lifting, rigging, and crane operations.
• Certified by a recognized lifting body (e.g., LEEA) or equivalent.
• Proficient with AutoCAD for 3D rigging layouts and load analysis.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly safety-conscious and technical Lifting Engineer to design, review, and supervise critical lifting operations. In this role, you will be responsible for engineering lifting plans, evaluating rigging stress, selecting appropriate lifting equipment, and ensuring that all heavy lifting activities comply with international safety standards and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lifting Plan Design: Develop detailed rigging and lifting plans for complex, heavy, or tandem lifts using CAD and specialized engineering simulation software.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Risk Assessments (RA) before executing any lifting operations.
• Equipment Inspection: Oversee the inspection, testing, and certification of all lifting appliances, cranes, and loose rigging gear (slings, shackles, spreader beams).
• On-Site Supervision: Supervise critical lifting operations on-site, serving as the technical authority to ensure operations strictly follow the approved lift plan.
• Vendor & Crane Selection: Calculate loads, ground bearing pressures, and outrigger loadings to select the appropriate crane capacities and configurations from third-party vendors.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with international lifting standards (such as LEEA, ASME, or LOLER) and local regulatory frameworks.
• Incident Investigation: Lead technical investigations into any lifting-related near-misses or incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
• Certifications: Valid certification from a recognized international lifting body (e.g., LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) Certified, Appointed Person for Lifting Operations, or equivalent).
• Experience: 5+ years of dedicated engineering experience in heavy lifting, rigging, and crane operations within the oil & gas, construction, marine, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (3D rigging layouts) and calculation methods for center of gravity, load sharing, and structural integrity.
