Job summary

Ecojob in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking a qualified Librarian on a contract basis open to Indian nationals. You will manage the library collection, assist users with reference services, and promote library resources.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Library Science, at least 2 years' library experience, and proficiency with library management systems, with strong English communication and ability to work independently and with diverse groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a library setting.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proficient in using library management systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with diverse groups.
• Understanding of information literacy concepts.
• Cultural sensitivity towards the diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the library collection, including selection, acquisition, cataloging and classification of materials
• Provide reference and research assistance to library users in person and online
• Plan and conduct information literacy sessions for students and faculty
• Promote library resources through various means such as displays, social media, and presentations
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy skills into curriculum
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions and statistics
• Stay updated on trends in the field of librarianship and implement best practices
