Job summary

Ecojob seeks an experienced Librarian in Dubai, UAE to manage our library collection and support patrons. The role emphasizes cataloging, reference assistance, and literacy programs, working with a diverse user base.

The ideal candidate holds a Library Science degree with at least two years of experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a contract arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as librarian in a similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Dewey Decimal system and cataloging standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience serving diverse populations including non-native English speakers.

Responsibilities

• Cataloging and organizing library materials using the Dewey Decimal system.
• Labeling and shelving materials accurately and promptly.
• Assist patrons with finding and checking out materials.
• Provide reference services and help with research questions.
• Develop and run programs to promote literacy and reading for all ages.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lessons.
• Maintain accurate records of transactions and statistics.
