Job summary

Ecojob in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is seeking a Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will manage and organize the library's collections, catalogue new materials, track usage, and assist patrons with information needs.

Salary is 1700 AED per month, with consideration for foreigners. Strong organizational and computer skills are required; bachelor’s in Library Science preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in library science preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Proficient in word processing and database use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the library's collections.
• Cataloguing new books and materials in standard library protocols.
• Track usage of materials and respond to patron inquiries.
• Establish relationships with publishers/vendors for new purchases.
• Develop reference materials to support research activities.
• Assist patrons with finding information in print and online resources.
• Develop educational programs for children and adults related to literature or research.
• Keep track of overdue items and assist with check-in/check-out processes.
