Flyper is seeking a detail-oriented Library Assistant for our Dubai library. You will help with circulation, reference services, and collection maintenance, ensuring a welcoming, organized environment for patrons.

The role involves shelving, assisting patrons, and supporting programs. Must have a high school diploma; library experience and Arabic/English fluency are beneficial. Visa sponsorship is provided for non-residents.

Qualifications

Library Assistant

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Library Assistant to join our team at our library in Dubai. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the library, including circulation, reference services, and collection maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the circulation desk, including checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines.
• Provide reference services to patrons by helping them find materials and answering informational questions.
• Assist in maintaining the library's collection by shelving books and other materials, shelf-reading to ensure proper organization, and processing new materials.
• Help with basic computer tasks such as creating patron accounts and troubleshooting equipment.
• Support library programs and events by setting up and cleaning up event spaces, promoting events to patrons, and assisting with event logistics.
• Assist in maintaining a welcoming and organized environment for patrons by ensuring that shelves are neat and orderly, displays are attractive, and furniture is clean.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working in a library or customer service environment preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 30 pounds.

This is a full-time position offering a salary of $1000/month. We provide visa sponsorship for non-residents of Dubai.
