Job summary

We are hiring a full-time Librarian for our library in Musaffah, UAE. The ideal candidate is a Malayalee with a passion for books and knowledge.

This role involves managing the library collection, cataloging new materials, helping patrons, providing reference services, planning events, and maintaining the online catalog. Strong English skills are required; Arabic is a plus. Salary is based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a library setting highly desirable.

We are currently hiring a full-time Librarian for our library in Musaffah, UAE. The ideal candidate for this position will be a Malayalee with a passion for books and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials
• Organize and catalogue new materials
• Assist library patrons with finding and checking out materials
• Provide reference services to patrons, including helping with research and answering questions
• Plan and conduct library programs and events, such as book clubs or author talks
• Keep track of library inventory and order new materials as needed
• Maintain the library's online catalog system
• Ensure that the library is clean, organized, and welcoming to all patrons

Requirements

• Must be a male Malayalee fluent in English (Arabic language skills are a plus)
• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Previous experience working in a library setting is highly desirable
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patrons of all ages
• Knowledge of online catalog systems and other relevant technology
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Working Hours

This is a full-time position with standard working hours from Sunday to Thursday. However, occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events or programs.

Salary
