Job summary

Dubai-based library is seeking a Librarian to manage resources and assist patrons with information requests. The role requires organizing materials using cataloguing systems, maintaining databases, and providing reference services, while ensuring access to accurate information.

The candidate will also handle security, copyright compliance, supervise staff, keep records of library use, order new materials, and contribute to reading programs and outreach activities in a dynamic public library

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience as Librarian or in a related field.
• Knowledge of cataloguing systems and classification procedures.
• Knowledge of copyright laws and regulations relevant to libraries.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service abilities.
• Good IT skills to maintain databases and use computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage library resources and collections to provide easy patron access to information.
• Organize library materials according to established cataloguing systems.
• Provide reference services and respond to patron requests.
• Maintain library databases and records of library use.
• Order new books and other materials as required.
• Develop reading programs and deliver related presentations.
