Job summary

Dubai Library is seeking a full-time Librarian to oversee the organization, preservation and dissemination of information and resources in our Dubai library. The role emphasizes assisting patrons, managing collections, and supporting library programs.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science, fluency in English, and strong customer service skills, along with familiarity with online databases and cataloging systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and ability to assist diverse patrons.
• Familiarity with online databases and e-books.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain library materials such as books, journals, and other resources.
• Assist patrons with finding and accessing information.
• Catalog new materials using Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress systems.
• Manage memberships and track borrowed items.
• Collaborate with librarians to develop programs and events.
• Promote library services to increase usage among students, faculty and community.
