Job summary

The Dubai Public Library is seeking a Librarian to manage the collection, assist patrons with research, and develop educational programs. The role requires a passion for literature, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science and at least two years of library experience, with English proficiency and familiarity with library technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a library setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in English; Malayalam knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiarity with biometric passport systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library's collection by organizing, cataloging, and shelving materials.
• Provide research assistance to patrons by locating resources.
• Develop and implement educational programs for children and adults.
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions.
• Create displays to promote new books or resources.
• Keep up-to-date with new materials to make recommendations.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies and equipment.
