The candidate will oversee library operations, maintain catalogs, manage circulation, and create engaging displays while promoting literacy in the local community. A Bachelor's degree in Library Science is required, with Malayalam language ability preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field is required.
• Previous library experience is preferred.
• Fluency in Malayalam (preferred) or another African language is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the library.
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date catalog of all library resources.
• Assist patrons with locating materials and conducting research.
• Provide recommendations for books and other materials based on patron interests.
• Manage circulation of library materials, including checking in/out items, collecting fines.
• Create engaging displays to promote new or relevant materials.
• Plan and execute library events and programs to engage the community.
• Collaborate with schools and organizations to promote literacy and library services.
