Job summary

Want More is seeking an experienced Librarian for our Abu Dhabi library. The role involves managing collections, assisting patrons, and delivering reference services across print and digital resources.

You will develop policies, coordinate library programs, and train staff, ensuring high-quality user experiences in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of library experience.
• Strong knowledge of cataloging systems (MARC21 / LCSH).
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic a plus.
• Experience with reference services using print and electronic resources.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with ILS, electronic databases and e‑books.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Librarian for our prestigious library in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's resources and providing excellent customer service to our diverse community of users.

• Oversee the acquisition, organization, and maintenance of the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials

• Provide reference services and assist with information retrieval for both physical and digital resources

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience working in a library setting
• Strong knowledge of cataloging systems, classification schemes, and information management tools such as MARC21 or Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH)
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus
• Experience with providing reference services using both print and electronic resources
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong customer service skills with attention to detail
• Familiarity with current technologies used in libraries such as integrated library systems (ILS), electronic databases, e-books, etc.
