Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in using library databases, cataloging systems, and other technology resources.
• Knowledge of current trends in library science and familiarity with diverse collections.
• Strong communication skills to work with diverse groups of patrons, colleagues, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the library's collection by cataloging new materials, organizing shelves, and weeding out outdated or damaged items.
• Assist patrons with locating materials, using library resources, and answering reference questions.
• Plan and implement outreach events to promote library services to the community.
• Manage library budget for purchasing new materials and supplies.
• Train and supervise support staff in daily tasks such as shelving books and processing new materials.
• Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology to continuously improve services.
• Collaborate with other librarians or organizations to develop programs or initiatives for the community.
