Job summary

Nord Anglia International School Dubai is seeking a Learning Support Specialist to support secondary students in Business and Economics, including neurodiverse learners, within the British curriculum.

The role involves delivering one-to-one and small group teaching, developing personalised educational plans (PEPs) with teachers and parents, and collaborating with the Secondary Head of Inclusion and the Personalised Learning Team.

Qualifications

• experience of providing core subject (Business and Economics) support to secondary aged students (Years 7 – 11)
• experience of supporting neurodiverse students; including planning and delivering small group and 1:1 support session for students with neurodiverse profiles
• previous and relevant experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant or Secondary Teacher
• previous experience of working within the British curriculum across secondary to GCSE/IGCSE level
• relevant qualifications
• a good rapport with young people
• a genuine passion for education
• strong interpersonal skills
• a friendly and professional manner
• strong English skills – spoken and written

Responsibilities

• facilitate children’s development in social, emotional and academic learning; support participation and ensure safety/welfare
• teach students who have learning difficulties and follow the UK National Curriculum across secondary levels
• prepare and deliver one-to-one and small group teaching sessions
• develop personalised educational plans (PEPs) with stakeholders to meet individual needs
• collaborate with the Secondary Head of Inclusion and the Personalised Learning Team to improve provision
