Job summary

Good co India is seeking a senior Python backend architect to design scalable, secure systems and lead enterprise-grade applications across AWS/Azure/GCP. You will guide REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures, while mentoring engineers and aligning tech with business goals.

The role emphasizes cloud-native migrations, IaC, DevSecOps and performance optimization in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

5 to 10 years of experience in Python development, backend engineering, software architecture or solution architecture.
Strong hands-on expertise in Python and building enterprise-scale applications.
Extensive experience with Django, Flask, FastAPI or other Python frameworks.
Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
Excellent understanding of OO programming, design patterns and software architecture principles.
Experience with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
Strong experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologies.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Experience designing scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant systems.
Knowledge of cloud security, API security, authentication/authorization and DevSecOps.
Experience with performance monitoring, logging and production troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of automated testing (Pytest) and code quality practices.

Responsibilities

Design and define scalable, secure, high-performance software architectures using Python and modern backend technologies.
Lead architecture and development of enterprise-grade Python applications, APIs and microservices.
Translate requirements into robust solution and system architectures.
Define technical standards, architecture principles, patterns and best practices for Python.
Design and implement RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
Evaluate and select Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI) based on requirements.
Design highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems.
Lead modernization and migration toward cloud-native microservices.
Define databases, caching, message queues and third-party service integrations.
Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, security, data and product teams to deliver solutions.
Drive cloud architecture and deployment across AWS, Azure or GCP.
Establish CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, IaC and DevOps practices.
Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews and technical assessments.
Identify risks, bottlenecks and scalability challenges and propose solutions.
Define application security practices including auth, encryption and secure API design.
Establish automated testing with Pytest and test automation frameworks.
Create architecture docs, specs, diagrams and implementation guidelines.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on complex initiatives.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend productivity tools.
Work with senior stakeholders to align architecture with business goals.
