Job summary

Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Consultant in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to lead comprehensive rehabilitation services. The role involves coordinating inpatient and outpatient PM&R care, developing patient-specific rehabilitation plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have MBBS or equivalent, accredited PM&R specialty training, and board certification, with eligibility for DOH

Qualifications

• Must hold MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Completed accredited specialty training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
• Board certification by Arab/European/UK/US pathways or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient PM&R care, including assessment and rehab planning.
• Manage complex rehab cases (neuro, musculoskeletal, spinal, post-surgical, chronic disability).
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to rehabilitation medicine.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing, psychology.
• Develop individualized rehab plans focused on function, pain, and quality of life.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, DOH regulations, and best practices.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvements and service development.
• Participate in teaching, mentoring, and supervision of junior staff.
