Job summary

KBR is expanding its Project Management Consultancy team for a high-profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The Lead Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical/Piping) will plan, coordinate, and lead all commissioning activities for offshore and onshore assets, ensuring safe handover from Construction to Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• PMP Certification, BOSIET/HUET for offshore projects, NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification.
• Completions & Commissioning Management Certification (Preferred).
• Minimum 18–22 years in Mechanical and Piping Commissioning within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG, or Offshore EPC/EPCI projects.
• Minimum 5 years in a Lead Commissioning Engineer or Senior Commissioning role.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical and Piping commissioning activities from system completion through start-up and final handover.
• Develop commissioning strategies, execution plans, procedures, and schedules; coordinate multidisciplinary commissioning activities.
• Manage commissioning engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractor personnel; ensure targets and milestones are met safely.
• Supervise pre-commissioning activities including verification, flushing, testing, punch-item closure, and readiness checks.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Operations, Vendors, and Client teams; support handover to Operations.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

PMP Certification

BOSIET/HUET (Offshore)

NEBOSH or Equivalent HSE Certification

Completions & Commissioning Management Certification (Preferred)
