Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi is seeking an accomplished Senior HVAC Engineer to lead design and ensure compliance with ADNOC standards. You will coordinate with EPC contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, safe, and cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and at least 15 years in oil and gas, with strong communication and leadership skills to manage reviews, options analysis, and project interfaces across the discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software; ability to make independent decisions to develop solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure integration of overall HVAC Engineering team. Overall coordination within IPMT Mechanical HVAC Engineering Team
  • Ensure quality HVAC Engineering Consultant's & EPC Contractor's HVAC design activities
  • Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
  • Coordinate engineering participation in development and analysis of design options and business models to optimize designs
  • Participate in teams for equipment sizing/equipment selection considering optimization and standardization
  • Ensure facilities are designed per latest corporate guidelines regarding environment and health aspects
  • Utilize existing facilities efficiently while planning for new projects' needs
  • Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
  • Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation
  • Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning
  • Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and support Project Managers and Engineers
  • Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments and Operations Units
  • Interface regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as required

  • Provide technical expertise in all HVAC design
  • Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards
  • Coordinate, Monitor and handle HVAC design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame
  • Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity etc.
  • Perform regular and timely technical reviews of HVAC Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
