Job summary

Wood invites a seasoned Piping Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi project team. You will lead integration across IPMT Piping Engineering, coordinating with EPC contractors and consultants to ensure ADNOC-compliant designs and timely execution.

The role requires 15+ years of oil and gas experience, strong communication, and a track record in applying international codes and standards. You will support installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant oil and gas experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
• Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure integration of overall Piping Engineering. Overall coordination within IPMT Piping Engineering Team.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Piping Engineering design activities.
• Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Coordinate participation in development and analysis of design options and models to optimize designs.
• Participate in equipment sizing / equipment selection for optimization and standardization.
• Ensure facilities are designed per environment and health guidelines.
• Maximize utilization of existing facilities while optimizing for new projects.
• Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews and technical workshops.
• Provide technical assistance with other discipline engineers.
• Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
• Support during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning.

• Provide technical expertise in all Piping design

• Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
• Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
• Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
• Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.
• Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
• Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning
• Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization
• Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department
• Interface regularly with Contractor’s Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required
