Job summary

Stantec in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Lead for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will provide technical leadership across ICA design, integration and testing, from concept through to construction support, coordinating across process, mechanical, electrical and civil teams.

You will drive compliance with QA/QC, support FAT/SAT, and participate in safety reviews such as HAZOPs and SIL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or ICA Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in water and wastewater sector.
• Professional accreditation (Chartership/PE or equivalent) or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical delivery of ICA aspects across the project life cycle.
• Provide technical leadership for ICA, PLC, RTU, SCADA, HMI and telemetry.
• Coordinate ICA activities across multidisciplinary design teams.
• Ensure ICA design consistency across treatment facilities, pipelines and reservoirs.
• Lead design and technical reviews of automation systems and integration.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic teams for effective automation.
• Review vendor documentation and address integration requirements.
• Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures.
• Participate in HAZOPs, SIL/functional safety reviews and technical reviews.
• Coordinate IT/OT segregation and cybersecurity considerations.
• Develop engineering manhours and manage budgets.
• Manage ICA schedule and support project managers.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and manage interfaces.
• Mentor junior team members and support capability development.
• Organise meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss technical solutions.
