Job summary

Wavetec is seeking a Team Lead – R&D to drive end-to-end hardware product development from concept to production in Dubai. You will plan, document and lead multiple projects, coordinate with supply chain, and ensure technical reliability and innovations aligned with the product roadmap.

You will supervise engineers and technicians, foster cross-functional collaboration, and uphold quality through rigorous testing and design reviews, while mentoring the team.

Qualifications

• BS/BE Electronics required.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Following are the required competencies: basic reading and engineering level math, reading and producing drawings, equipment and tooling design, supervisory and motivational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, computer literate; use of word processing, spreadsheets, AutoCAD, materials and processes, reading and interpreting patents.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, document and develop new hardware products from initial requirements through prototypes to production ready. Defines product requirements.
• Maintain existing designs and develop new variants of existing products to add new features, deal with component end-of-life, etc
• Assists in the transfer of newly developed products from R&D to production and provides co-ordination between supply chain and production for new products
• Schedules, coordinates and manages multiple projects
• Determines, outlines, and interprets tests to verify product integrity in the design phase
• Manages and directs Engineers and Technicians in Implementing designs, performing and documenting test results
• Develops and maintains association with outside organizations and institutions pertinent to the interests and needs of the department and the Company
• Quality control of developed products and identifying bugs in existing products
• Provides second tier support to Customer Support Engineers
• Provides Technical Assistance to the Sales Team in gauging new business opportunities
• End-to-end responsible for developing products and driving innovation according to product roadmap
• Responsible for product’s technical reliability and performance improvement
• Assures competitiveness and innovation of products and processes from a technological and design standpoint
• Ensures and consolidates that the growth of the technical “know-how” within the working group is shared and constantly increasing
