Job summary

To ensure the integrity and compliance of the organization's financial operations by overseeing daily transactions and performing strategic review of account reconciliations prepared by respective business units in Finance. Support the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UAE regulations, while providing strategic analytical support for budgeting and forecasting.

General Responsibilities
  • Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems
  • Ensure the compliance of organization’s policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
  • Reporting
  • Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with the business and Transco’s policies and standards.
  • Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
  • Comply with organization’s requirements in a timely manner.
Job Specific Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee daily GL transactions, ensuring all entries are accurate and in compliance with UAE financial regulations and IFRS guidelines.
  • Support the IFRS reporting team in the preparation and comprehensive analysis of annual financial statements, guaranteeing adherence to IFRS and UAE regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and efficient submissions that reflect the company's financial performance accurately.
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of the accruals and provisions for expenditures and revenue in collaboration with respective business units, ensuring accuracy, occurrence, and completeness in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure robust control as review over the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all transactions flowing from subledgers (AP, AR, Payroll, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, CC&B & Maximo) to the general ledger, maintaining integrity across financial reporting
  • Manage the preparation and accurate recording of all provisions, including expected credit loss (IFRS 9), legal, operational, and contractual liabilities, along with strategic execution of accounting adjustments, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and timely reflection in financial statements
  • Manage lease accounting and reporting in compliance with IFRS 16, ensuring accurate recognition of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities while optimizing lease portfolio management to enhance financial performance and transparency.
  • Oversee the review of provisions and amortizations prepared by respective business unit in Finance, including bonuses, staff provisions and other compensation items from TAQA, ensuring accurate recording and compliance standards and confidentiality.
  • Manage the strategic review of all reconciliations prepared by the respective operating unit in Finance, including subledger, intercompany, and bank reconciliations, to ensure alignment with organizational goals, mitigate financial risks, and support accurate financial reporting
  • Consolidate financial information from various operations and units for accurate reporting.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting.
  • Support the budgeting and planning team in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing input based on actual financial analysis.
  • Oversee compliance with local financial legal requirements by thoroughly reviewing existing and emerging legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising executive management on necessary actions.
  • Contribute to the strategic development and implementation of new accounting procedures by critically analyzing current practices and proposing enhancements.
