Job summary

eMagine Solutions seeks a Lead Field Engineer based in Dubai with regional coverage across the UAE and GCC. You will install, calibrate and support machine control/guidance systems (Trimble, Topcon, Leica) on excavators and graders, while leading a field team and improving procedures.

Your role includes delivering operator training, validating design data on site and coordinating complex repairs and escalations, with a focus on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, calibrating and supporting machine control/guidance systems on live sites.
• Experience leading field teams of engineers, technicians, operators or surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, calibrate and support machine control/guidance systems on heavy equipment at client sites.
• Configure GNSS base/rover, load 3D design data, validate on site.
• Diagnose hardware/software issues and coordinate repairs and escalations.
• Deliver structured training to operators, survey teams, distributors and internal stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor field survey team with prioritisation and QA of work.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for installation, calibration, drone ops, safety and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership for key accounts and support commercial teams with demos and trials.

Job description

Lead Field Engineer, based in Dubai with regional coverage across the UAE and wider GCC. This is a field-led technical role responsible for the installation, calibration, support and continuous improvement of machine control and guidance solutions across major customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, calibrate and support machine control / guidance systems (Trimble, Topcon, Leica) on excavators, dozers and graders
• Configure GNSS base/rover solutions, site localisation and coordinate systems; load and validate 3D design data and accuracy on site
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, sensor and software issues; coordinate repairs, parts and technical escalations as required
• Deliver structured training to customer operators, survey teams, distributors and internal stakeholders
• Lead and mentor the field survey team, including prioritisation, resource allocation and quality assurance
• Develop, maintain and improve standard operating procedures covering installation, calibration, drone operations, safety and documentation
• Provide technical leadership for key accounts and support commercial teams with demonstrations, site trials and solution validation

Candidate profile

• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience installing, calibrating and supporting machine control / guidance systems in live site environments
• Demonstrated experience leading site-based teams (engineers, technicians, operators or surveyors)
• Strong technical knowledge of GNSS/RTK, laser guidance, machine sensors and 3D design data workflows
• High standards for safety, documentation, data accuracy and customer service
• Comfortable operating independently in outdoor environments and travelling across the UAE/GCC

Preferred experience

• Exposure to GCC infrastructure programmes, ports, airports or oil & gas projects
• Multi-brand machine control experience
• Drone survey exposure and/or GCAA drone pilot certification (training available)
• Familiarity with survey and design tools such as DJI Terra, Pix4D, Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D

Requirements

• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Valid UAE driving licence (required)
• UAE-based preferred; relocation considered for suitable candidates
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil or Geomatics Engineering (or equivalent)
• Additional certifications in automation, surveying and/or drone operations are advantageous
