Job summary

Rejlers Abu Dhabi seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer with extensive refinery and onshore/offshore oil & gas project experience to join our Abu Dhabi Operations, UAE.

You will lead engineering design, coordinate with disciplines, and ensure timely delivery of electrical systems and telecom solutions, reporting to the Head of Discipline - Electrical.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Design, FEED and detail Engineering experience.
  • Experience in IT / Telecom field including Security & Safety, wired & wireless communication in Oil & Gas.
  • Ability to work in onshore/offshore refinery environments and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering design efforts for refinery/oil & gas projects.
  • Prepare and review design outputs, calculations, drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors and internal disciplines to ensure timely delivery.
  • Review and approve design documents and drawings for client acceptance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians in project tasks.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Contribute to as-built documentation and telecom system deliverables.

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in refinery and onshore / offshore oil and gas projects to join our Abu Dhabi Operations, UAE.


Reports To

The Lead Electrical Engineer reports to the Head of Discipline - Electrical.



  • Engineering Design, FEED and detail Engineering experience, Deliverable list with Man hours & Costing estimation for proposal in Telecom systems

  • Experience in IT / Telecom field including Security & Safety, wired & wireless communication in Oil & Gas

  • LAN &WAN, ACS, CCTV, FOC, IDS, PAGA, Hotline systems, F&G, and IP telephone etc7

  • Ensure verification of source data, concept drawings / concepts as required.

  • Prepare and finalize the engineering document deliverable register (EDDR) in coordination with all relevant department / discipline, submission date as per Client / Contract requirements.

  • Prepare / review the design outputs in the form of design computations, drawings and specification.

  • Review of design document, drawings, etc. issued by various disciplines, design subcontractor and ensure Client’s approval.

  • Responsible to ensure approval of all submitted documents and drawings and necessary coordination with the Client.

  • Responsible to ensure unclear issues are resolved with Clients through technical query in coordination with inter discipline leads, managers.

  • In coordination with procurement department, ensure that procurement inputs required for design has been obtained from vendor and forwarded to the design subcontractor.

  • Participation of FAT, SAT, commissioning, pre-commissioning.

  • Coordinate for the preparation of as—built.

  • Preparation of Telecommunication Engineering deliverables including Design Basis, Specifications for various Telecommunication Systems, System Block Diagrams, Datasheets,MR.

  • Producing Radio Coverage Calculations, Fresnel Zone Calculations, estimating antennae height, etc.

  • Perform Fiber Optic Link Budget Calculations, Data and Telephony Traffic Analysis, Capacity / Bandwidth Calculations, Public Address Sound Pressure Level Calculations.

  • Telecom Equipment Power Consumption and Heat Load Calculations.

  • Develop Telecommunication Systems Architecture Diagrams.

  • Provide engineering input to engineering drawings including Device Location Plans, Cable Routing Layouts, Instrument/Device Installation Details, Interconnection Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Circuit & Connection Diagrams, , Cable Block Diagrams and MDF / IDF Schematics, FO Allocation Diagrams, Device and Equipment Schedules etc

  • Schedule/Diagrams, etc. prepared by designers.

  • Co-ordinate with other disciplines and review other discipline deliverables.

  • Carry out onshore and offshore site surveys as required. Attend interface meetings with Clients and Vendors to progress design scopes

  • Review Telecommunication System Vendors offers, prepare Vendor technical clarifications and produce Technical Bid Evaluation reports.

  • Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment

  • Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects

  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project / phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints

  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work

  • Evaluates problems, organizes investigations, and establishes overall performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc

  • Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; Assist with the development of less senior Technical Professionals

  • Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline-specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement

  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required

  • Performs complex engineering tasks related to specific units of major projects

  • Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews, and other workshops as required

  • Organizing and active participation in design reviews

  • Solves problems requiring the development of innovative approaches or new uses for existing approaches; exercises mature professional judgment in evaluating and selecting technical strategic options

  • As necessary, modifies established guidelines, devises innovative approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways, and draws conclusions from comparative situations

  • Regularly functions as a technical leader or significant contributor to a major complex problem or project

  • Produces innovative ideas and solves problems requiring the development of innovative approaches or new uses for existing approaches

  • Consistently called on to use creativity and professional judgement to formulate results based on engineering standards, experience, and constructive thinking

  • Provide technical input and support to proposals as required

  • May supervise a small workgroup consisting of technical / professional staff with some coaching from own supervisor, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialization to others

  • Assist in performing managerial tasks as requested, such as assigning tasks to engineers; planning and coordinating portions of the engineering work; preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets; attending project meetings; and developing lesser - experienced technical professionals

  • Makes commitments on acceptance of projects, completion dates, resources and staff required to meet goals

  • Coordinates the activities of engineering and design groups assigned to projects

  • Participates in developing deadlines, projects, and work to be done

  • May manage one or more projects, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resources allocation, and risk.

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Energy, and Environmental objectives


Qualifications


  • Engineering Graduate (BSc. or MSc.)

  • Minimum of 15 years proven capability in an engineering design company

  • Experience of working with multi - national and multi - cultural project teams is strongly preferred

  • Previous ADNOC project experience of working would be an advantage

  • Fully familiar with relevant international codes, standards and recommended practices.

  • Competent to carry out the Design activity in the Design-Check-Approve-Authorize cycle, and to Check the technical deliverables of designers.

  • General knowledge of other related disciplines.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.

  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast paced multi-disciplinary team environment.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and Communication.

  • Meets with UAE visa requirements
