Job summary

TAQA Distribution in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to ensure compliance with power asset standards, review specifications, and govern project documentation.

You will lead training on standards, support procurement evaluations for mega and private projects, and coordinate with project teams to ensure assets are commissioned per established guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of HSE, Security and Risk Management Rules.

Responsibilities

  • Review and implement a set of specifications, standards, and strategies for the management of TAQA Distribution's power asset base.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and occasional sampling of the overall level of implementation and adherence to the established standards.
  • Establish a framework to develop, maintain, and control power asset standards and specifications.
  • Communicate and train on the standards and procedures by updating related systems, training materials, and programs.
  • Provide governance of all electricity specifications, strategies, and standards to ensure alignment with overall business targets and consistency across the affected directorates.
  • Review the technical evaluation of material procurement tenders raised by the Supply Division, evaluating technical aspects for mega projects and private projects.
  • Liaise with TAQA Vendor prequalification process for all electricity materials/factories, ensuring vendors meet required standards and maintaining relationships with approved vendors.
  • Provide necessary technical support during the commissioning process with regards to standards and specifications and address deviations.

Job description

  • Ensure the compliance of organization's policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
  • Reporting
  • Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with the business policies and standards.
  • Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
  • Comply with organization's requirements in a timely manner.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
  • Review and implement a set of specifications, standards, and strategies for the management of TAQA Distribution's power asset base.

Evaluating the technical aspects of materials and equipment for mega projects as well as private projects such as villas, high-rise buildings, factories, district cooling plants, and temporary power supply.
  • Liaise with TAQA Vendor prequalification process for all electricity materials/factories. Ensuring that vendors meet the required technical standards and specifications and maintaining a strong relationship with approved vendors.
  • Provide necessary technical support during the commissioning process with regards to standards and specifications and related deviations. Work closely with project teams to ensure that power assets are commissioned in accordance with the established standards and any deviations are properly addressed.
