Job summary

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company seeks aSenior Electrical Estimation Engineer to evaluate project requirements, estimate costs, and prepare competitive bids for electrical projects in the UAE. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with HV/MV/LV systems and will mentor junior engineers.

The role involves reviewing specifications, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring precise cost calculations in accordance with local standards and tender deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 08+ years of experience and 05 years as an Estimation Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of local standards and regulations including ADNOC ADDC AADC ADM DEWA SEWA and keep abreast of any updates or changes to these standards.
• Assess tender ITBs, drawings, specifications and project schedules to understand project requirements.
• Initiate and oversee quotes from suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors and lead negotiations for competitive rates.
• Showcase expertise in electrical HV/MV/LV equipment and systems, providing technical insight into substation and overhead line works.
• Review, analyze and interpret datasheets, single-line diagrams, specifications and cable schedules.
• Prepare precise and comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on project requirements.
• Develop cost sheets covering direct/indirect costs, temporary facilities and other expenses per tender specs.
• Create cost sheets for construction packages for main contractors.
• Review contract and commercial terms, identifying potential risks or concerns.
• Conduct cost comparisons between supplier offers to aid informed decisions.
• Generate technical and commercial proposals aligned with client requirements.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers on technical and commercial aspects.
• Maintain ISO documentation and record-keeping to quality standards.
• Oversee supplier/manufacturer data banks and ensure data accuracy.
• Verify material take-offs to ensure high estimation accuracy.
