Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks a highly experienced Lead Discipline Engineer (Field) – Piping to oversee and support all field piping activities on a major onshore project. The role ensures safe, efficient execution in line with project specifications and client requirements.

You will lead piping field engineering during construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning, coordinate with construction, QA/QC and operations, review TQs and ECRs, and provide guidance on materials,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 15–20 years of piping engineering experience, with onshore field experience on oil and gas projects.
• Proven track record on large-scale onshore oil and gas, gas processing, or petrochemical projects.
• Strong expertise in piping installation, construction support, testing, mechanical completion, and commissioning.
• Thorough knowledge of international piping codes and standards including ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, API, and client specifications.
• Experience with ADNOC onshore projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and multidisciplinary communication skills.
• Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all onshore piping field engineering activities during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure piping installation works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, commissioning, and operations teams to resolve field engineering issues.
• Review and provide technical support for piping installation, testing, tie-ins, modifications, and field design changes.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with project schedules, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Review and approve field technical queries (TQs), site instructions, method statements, and engineering change requests.
• Provide technical guidance on piping materials, supports, stress-related field issues, hydrotesting, reinstatement, and mechanical completion activities.
• Participate in site inspections, walkdowns, punch list clearance, and final acceptance activities.
• Liaise with the client, EPC teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on all piping field engineering matters.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 15–20 years of experience in piping engineering, with significant experience in onshore field engineering for oil and gas projects
• Proven track record on large-scale onshore oil and gas, gas processing, or petrochemical projects
• Strong expertise in piping installation, construction support, testing, mechanical completion, and commissioning activities
• Thorough knowledge of international piping codes and standards including ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, API, and relevant client specifications
• Experience with ADNOC onshore projects is strongly preferred
• Strong leadership, coordination, and multidisciplinary communication skills
• Familiarity with engineering documentation, field engineering procedures, and construction management practices
• Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred
