Job summary

Egisgroup is seeking a Senior Structural Inspector to perform detailed assessments of bridges and marine structures in Dubai. You will examine steel and concrete elements, identify defects, and prepare actionable repair plans for ongoing projects.

Your role includes reviewing drawings, coordinating maintenance work orders, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. A UAE-focused background with relevant certifications is highly valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
Professional engineering certification or chartered status is preferred.
Minimum 8 years of overall structural engineering experience.
Minimum 4 years of practical experience in bridge, marine, infrastructure or heavy structural‑steel projects.
Minimum 5 years of UAE experience is preferred.
Previous experience with RTA projects, bridge maintenance or movable bridge systems will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

Carry out detailed structural inspections of bridge elements and related components.
Identify defects, deterioration, corrosion, cracking, deformation and coating issues.
Prepare inspection and condition reports with repair recommendations.
Develop and review repair methodologies for steel and concrete structures.
Review drawings, submittals, test plans and calculations.
Coordinate maintenance work orders from initiation to closure.
Monitor progress and ensure work is completed within schedule.
Supervise repair works including welding, strengthening and coatings.
Review welding procedures, NDT requirements and welder qualifications.
Verify fabrication, erection, accuracy and surface preparation.
Coordinate non-destructive testing like UT, MPI, PT and thickness checks.
Review material certificates and compliance with standards.
Prepare proposals, repair sketches, scope of work and cost estimates.
Coordinate with other engineers for interface with bridge operating systems.
Liaise with Client, Consultant, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
Attend site and progress meetings; prepare technical presentations.
Ensure works follow drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
Maintain engineering records and closure documentation.
Support emergency inspections and recovery planning.
