Job summary

Rixos Al Mairid is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our Laundry team. The role involves washing, drying, ironing and folding linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry while maintaining high hygiene and quality standards.

Responsibilities include operating laundry equipment, sorting, stain removal, inventory management, and collaboration with housekeeping to ensure clean textiles are available for guests. Prior experience in hospitality is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Previous experience in laundry operations, housekeeping or hospitality is an advantage.
• Familiarity with commercial laundry machines, detergents and stain removal techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Laundry operations: operate washers, dryers and ironing equipment for linens, towels, uniforms and guest laundry.
• Sorting and inspection: separate by fabric type and color; check for stains or damage.
• Stain removal: treat stains and apply proper washing techniques.
• Folding and organization: fold, stack and distribute clean items efficiently.
• Guest laundry service: handle guest requests and return items as instructed.
• Inventory and stock management: monitor linen and uniform supplies; report shortages.
• Machine maintenance: ensure equipment is in good working order and report issues.
• Hygiene and safety: follow proper hygiene, safety, and chemical handling procedures.
• Lost and found: follow hotel protocols for laundry-related discoveries.
• Collaboration: work with housekeeping and other departments for smooth operations.
• Sustainability: follow eco-friendly practices and reduce water/detergent waste.

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the washing, drying, ironing, and folding of linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry while ensuring high hygiene and quality standards. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of all textiles used throughout the property.

• Laundry Operations: Operate washers, dryers, and ironing equipment to clean and maintain hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
• Sorting & Inspection: Sort laundry by fabric type and color, inspecting items for stains, damages, or special cleaning requirements.
• Stain Removal: Treat stains and ensure proper washing techniques are applied to maintain fabric quality.
• Folding & Organization: Fold, stack, and organize clean linens, towels, and uniforms efficiently for distribution.
• Guest Laundry Service: Handle guest laundry requests, ensuring timely pickup, washing, ironing, and return of items while following special instructions.
• Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor linen and uniform inventory, reporting shortages or damages to the Laundry Supervisor.
• Machine Maintenance: Ensure laundry machines and equipment are in proper working condition. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
• Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Follow proper hygiene, safety, and handling procedures for chemicals and laundry equipment. Ensure compliance with hotel sanitation standards.
• Lost & Found: Follow hotel protocols for handling lost and found items discovered in laundry.
• Collaboration: Work closely with housekeeping and other departments to ensure a seamless flow of clean linens and uniforms.
• Sustainability & Waste Management: Follow eco-friendly laundry practices, minimize water and detergent waste, and support the hotel's sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a laundry operation, housekeeping, or hospitality role is an advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial laundry machines, detergents, and stain removal techniques.
