Qualifications

• A degree in surveying or a related field is essential; additional certifications are desirable
• At least three years of experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with surveying instruments like GPS systems, total stations, levelers; AutoCAD knowledge is beneficial
• Excellent problem solving abilities
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Collect data from aerial photographs or other sources
• Accurately identify land features such as contours, boundaries, topography
• Measure distances, angles and other features with surveying instruments
• Analyze field notes and draft maps that correctly represent survey results
• Calculate site elevations and prepare topographical maps using specialized software
• Participate in meetings with clients to discuss project objectives
• Ensure that projects are completed within budget and deadlines
• Maintain accurate records of survey results and documents
