Job summary

Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) is seeking a Land Surveyor to manage on-site surveying for building and villa projects in the UAE. You will set out foundations, alignments, and control points, while interpreting drawings and coordinating with engineers and subcontractors.

The candidate should have a Civil Engineering or Land Surveying degree with 3–6 years in construction surveying and proficiency with Total Station and Auto Level. UAE standards knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying.
• 3–6 years of experience as a Land Surveyor in construction projects.
• Experience in building and villa projects (UAE/GCC preferred).
• Proficiency with Total Station and Auto Level.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and coordinates.
• Understanding of UAE standards and authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveying including setting-out, leveling, and alignment for buildings and villas.
• Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points on site.
• Set out foundations, slabs, columns, walls, beams, and grid lines.
• Perform topographic surveys, site verification, and pre-construction measurements.
• Check elevations and finished floor levels per design drawings.
• Interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings for execution.
• Prepare survey reports, field notes, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, consultants and subcontractors to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment on site.
• Support handover documentation and final as-built verification for approvals.

Job Purpose

The Land Surveyor is responsible for all site surveying activities across building and villa construction projects. The role ensures accurate setting-out, leveling, and control of structural and architectural works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all site surveying works including setting-out, leveling, and alignment for building and villa projects.
• Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points on site.
• Set out foundations, slabs, columns, walls, beams, and structural grid lines.
• Perform topographic surveys, site verification, and pre-construction measurements.
• Check and verify excavation levels, backfilling, and finished floor levels (FFL).
• Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for accurate execution.
• Prepare and maintain survey reports, field notes, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve site discrepancies.
• Ensure accuracy of coordinates, dimensions, and levels as per design drawings.
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate surveying equipment (Total Station, Auto Level, GPS).
• Support handover documentation and final as-built verification for authority approvals.
