Job summary

Qualifications

• Secondary vocational education in hospitality, preferably with training or specialization in culinary arts, cooking, or professional kitchen operations.
• Responsible and dependable attitude with ability to complete assigned kitchen duties properly.
• Highly motivated, energetic, and able to work actively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Careful, clean, and efficient approach to food preparation and other kitchen tasks, with ability to work at a good pace.
• Good practical knowledge of professional kitchen hygiene, food handling, safety standards, and daily kitchen procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper food quality, kitchen equipment, and cleanliness standards across all kitchen areas and work sections.
• Prepare basic meals and support the chef with festive menus, gala dinners, special events, and other planned dishes.
• Assist with daily food preparation, including ingredient processing, meal preparation, and customized or special meal requirements.
• Support basic food decoration and presentation to ensure dishes are prepared and served appropriately when required.
• Prepare lunch boxes, takeaway meals, and packaged food according to daily orders, schedules, and operational requirements.
• Keep kitchen areas organized and ensure workstations, equipment, and preparation areas remain clean, safe, and ready for use.
• Assist with receiving, handling, and storing food supplies while ensuring ingredients are available and properly maintained when needed.
