Job summary

Anantara Downtown Dubai is seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to manage and service kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, and HVAC systems. You will ensure energy efficiency, safety compliance, and timely repairs for refrigeration and boiler systems in a luxury hotel environment.

You will supervise internal and external maintenance teams, maintain HACCP records, support sustainability initiatives, and participate in emergency response efforts as part of the hotel’s engineering group.

Qualifications

• Maintain kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, pumps, and boilers.
• Repair refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers and ovens.
• Log and maintain HACCP and Health & Safety records.
• On-call for equipment/plant emergencies; perform PPM checks.
• Manage air-conditioning and refrigeration system servicing.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability programs.
• Attend on-the-job training as per standards.
• Oversee tools issued to Engineering Dept and contractors.
• Ensure safety induction and records for on-site contractors.
• Accept deliveries timely.
• Supervise maintenance team and external contractors.
• Keep Health & Safety records up to date.
• Be part of Fire Team and assist emergencies.
• Monitor hotel utility readings for power management.
• Stay informed about regulatory and environmental changes.
• Carry out other tasks as needed.
• Ensure deadlines met and work quality.

• Responsible for kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, chilled water systems, pumps, and boilers, including testing and maintenance.

• Attend to, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk‑in coolers, freezers, ovens, etc.

• Ensure HACCP standards and Health & Safety legislation records are logged and maintained.

• Be on call for any equipment/plant emergencies and carry out PPM checks.

• Carry out all air‑conditioning and refrigeration system management and servicing.

• Participate in the hotel’s energy conservation and sustainability programs.

• Attend all on‑the‑job training in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.

• Supervise the issue of tools relating to the Engineering Department and ensure their safe return.

• Be responsible for contractors working on site, including safety induction and maintaining records of all jobs undertaken.

• Accept deliveries in an appropriate and timely manner.

• Supervise the maintenance team and any external contractors employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work.

• Ensure that all Health & Safety records are kept up to date.

• Form part of the Fire Team and assist in any emergencies that may arise.

• Monitor utility readings for the hotel to ensure effective power management.

• Stay aware of changes in regulations and environmental issues.

• Carry out other work that may reasonably be required and be available as needed.

• Oversee the team’s and contractors’ work to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to the required standard.
