Job summary

STUDIOI in Dubai is seeking a junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the engineering design team. You will design and coordinate mechanical aspects of projects from concept to tender, with guidance from a Senior Engineer and BIM modelers.

You will apply CSI Master Format, international codes, and ensure high quality documents, securing approvals from authorities. The role emphasizes collaboration, precision, and hands‑on BIM work using REVIT, CAD, Navisworks, and HAP.

Qualifications

• A BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
• 0-1 years of broad, international experience in multi-disciplinary projects.
• Member of a professional institution. Preferably a Chartered Engineer.
• Demonstrated proficiency in specification writing in CSI Master Format.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in design of Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Smoke Management System, Chilled water design.
• Knowledge of the latest International Codes & Standards (CIBSE, ASHRAE, NFPA codes, IBC, British Standards)

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate all the mechanical design of the project through all stages from concept to tender/construction documentation.
• Lead pro‑active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve high quality documents.
• Identify systems requirements per international standards and local codes.
• Preparing mark‑ups, checking drawings, instructing BIM technicians.
• Assuring the correctness and accuracy of own work and the work allocated to BIM modelers.
• Personally verify corrections and accuracy before review by Senior Engineer.
• Understanding and implementing document control procedures for calculations and drawings.
• Follow up design approval from related authorities.
• Hands‑on and expert working knowledge in BIM (REVIT), CAD, Navisworks, HAP, …etc.
• Proactively check and coordinate project documents and ensure high quality standards.
